Empower yourself with the wisdom of your ancestors as a home herbalist with Cecemmanna.
Become familiar with your local bioregional plant allies, gain medicine making skills that are kitchen accessible, and circle with like-minded community in our learning container.
Meet weekly online during our 3 season journey, with once-monthly in-person community building opportunity.
Students receive a solid foundation in the art, science & spirituality of herbal medicine from a QT2SBIPOC-centered perspective with an emphasis on liberatory decolonization.
Program Format + Timeline
Begin class on Spring Equinox and end Winter Solstice
Live classes meet weekly March 19th to December 17th 6-8pm PST on Tuesdays
Live Tea Time Office Hours & Discussion Container 10-12pm PST select Sundays
Once a month weekend in-person gathering opportunity featuring:
Guided bioregional herb walks, RADs (Reciprocity Action Days), camping retreats, hands-on garden days, and a foraging adventure (weather permitting)
Students can anticipate 2-3 hours of weekly engagement work at home
No classes on national holidays
270 Learning Hours including live and our pre-recorded medicine making demo series with lifetime access

Our learning journeys are offered as a hybrid experience for those local to California with programming offered in the Bay Area
Coursework is designed to be available to virtual only-
No curriculum based information will be missed if you are unable to join in person!
Local to California or not, all students are invited to part-take in live programming.
Students from out-of-state have travelled in town for our Spring retreat and Fall overnights.

We partner with THINKIFIC as our student portal. Access recordings, handouts, recaps archives, and zoom links in our centralized student dashboard.
Our Pedagogy
This program is a curriculum-oriented first step towards cultivating a professional clinical herbalist practice. Described as rigorous when peak engaged, class time includes lecture, discussion, guided plant-based discovery exercises, and a medicine making demo video series. Supporting experiential, project-based learning, our students have the opportunity to embody plant spirit practices and reciprocal principles that demystify inner earth-based balance.

Discover your body systems and methods to support balance and equanimity
Engage with cultural specific practices in a conscious and celebratory manner
Plant ID & botany basics so you can confidently harvest and grow your own medicine
Identify medicinal plant species and describe their healing properties
Build a potent at-home apothecary that builds upon your existing spice cabinet
Make natural herbal body products in the comfort of your own kitchen
Familiarize yourself with natural remedies for maladies such as digestive issues, reproductive health, skin conditions, basic first aid, insomnia, depression + more

Understand the language of plants and sync in to their subtle messages

Deposit & Refund
Application requires a $1,000 deposit with a $250 non-refundable fee.
This fee compensates our team for the administrative work associated with processing your application
including panel review, contract election, financial arrangements, and time spent.
Should your application not be accepted, we will refund your application less 10% ($100).
Should you chose to withdraw your application electively, the $250 fee is applicable.

Scholarship
Created to extend opportunities of growth and learning to passionate candidates who are inspired to reinvest in their communities, we have a limited number of need-based scholarships available. We are committed to providing one scholarship seat for every 10 paying seats and are dedicated to centering systematically marginalized communities.
